Bernie Madoff was yesterday sentenced to 150 years for “robbing investors” of $50Billion. He should be jailed and be punished for people losing lots of money.
What about bank bosses though? They’ve lost significantly more than $50B and still have their pensions, savings, bonuses and shares.
As a shareholder on Northern Rock, I’ve lost a lot of money and it seems, I may never get it back.
What about pensioners who’ve worked all of their lives, saved and were looking forward to a happy retirement? With interest rates so low, month on month they eat in to their capital and may never have this relaxed retirement they’ve been working for. All brought on as a consequence of bankers greed.
